We are incredibly fortunate to be supported by our Patron, Oliver Jeffers, whose creative voice and advocacy help raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities faced by young people with physical disabilities and additional needs.

Oliver Jeffers is a celebrated Northern Ireland-born artist and illustrator, best known for his award-winning and internationally adored children's books, including How to Catch a Star and The Day the Crayons Quit.
His work has reached millions of readers around the world and continues to inspire creativity and wonder in children and adults alike.
Oliver became a Patron of Autonomie in 2016, bringing visibility and enthusiasm to our mission. He has spoken personally about the importance of addressing social exclusion, isolation, and barriers to opportunity for people with disabilities - issues he witnessed firsthand in his own life and community.
Autonomie empowers these young people so that they can break down the barriers they too often have to face.
Oliver's belief in inclusion and possibility aligns closely with Autonomie's values - that everyone deserves the chance to build confidence, independence, and choice in their lives.
As Patron, Oliver helps bring energy, visibility, and encouragement to young people, families, volunteers, and staff alike.
Reaching wider audiences and bringing greater visibility to our mission across Northern Ireland and beyond.
Highlighting the barriers young people with disabilities often face and the importance of breaking them down.
Encouraging donors, partners, and volunteers to rally behind inclusion and support our programmes.
Sparking broader discussions about opportunity, creativity, and community for all.

From young people gaining independence to families finding support and confidence — your support makes it all possible.
